Lena Shrub Rose

This is an ever-blooming shrub rose that grows roughly three feet tall in Texas.  If you are considering the small miniature rose The Fairy or already have The Fairy in your Texas garden this is a great alternative or companion.

This rose is hardy, low-maintenance shrub followed by a good showing of hips in the fall.  The Fairy has miniature flowers while as you can see this rose has larger flowers.  Remember, a miniature rose applies to the size of the bloom and not the size of the shrub.

Lena has its own root, this is not a graphed rose. The advantage of own root roses is that once established they are very resilient. If winter’s freezing breezes kill the top growth, the rose will grow back in the spring, and the recovered rose will look the same as the one you purchased.  Plus you can root it!!!
